The VI Meeting of Expert Group on Key National Indicators of the Council of Heads of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of CIS countries was held in Minsk on 5 June 2013.
The meeting was attended by delegates of SAIs of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Armenia. Chairman of State Control Committee of Belarus Alexander Yakobson opened the meeting with greeting speech. He noted that the State Control Committee appreciates and attaches great importance to the work of expert group in the development of common approaches and standards in the performance of key national indicators for assessing the effectiveness of social and economic policies of states.
Key National Indicators (KNI) worked out by experts from SAIs of CIS countries are used in the control activities to assess the effectiveness of national systems in the field of economics, as well as for evaluation of the implementation of social and economic development of countries.
It should be noted that the Expert Group prepared a fundamental document " Assessment of possibilities of achieving methodological comparability of the CIS countries KNIs " with the analysis of the comparability of indicators of development strategies of specific countries to the Strategy of CIS countries for the period up to 2020. A summary table of indicators passports of the Strategy of CIS economic development for the period up to 2020 was also formed.
During the current meeting of the Expert Group were discussed the key developments and initiatives of regulatory authorities. The sides also exchanged experience of KNI methodology application in the framework of control activities and public audit.
Background
Expert Group was formed in 2008 in accordance with the decision of VIII session of the Council of Heads of CIS Supreme Audit Institutions.
The Expert Group facilitates the implementation and monitoring of system of key national indicators of socio-economic development at the national and international levels, as well as the development of performance audit in the CIS countries.
Objectives of the Expert Group:
Facilitate the implementation of the decisions of XIX Congress of INTOSAI (International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions) in the part of the realization of regional pilot project of the Council of Heads of CIS Supreme Audit Institutions on key national indicators;
Promote the use of key national indicators by SAIs of CIS states - participants in the performance audit. All news
