Q&A

History of state control

The history of state control in modern Belarus begins with the formation of the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic. In January 1919 the Commissariat of State Control was established, which became the first financial control body of Soviet Belarus.

Since then the state control in Belarus has experienced multiple changes, undergone stages of formation and reforming.

At present, the Committee of State Control is the supreme financial control body of the country.

In accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, the Committee exercises state control over the execution of the republican budget, use of state property, execution of acts of the President, Parliament, Government and other state bodies regulating state property, economic, financial and tax relations.
