The results of the external audit of the Union State budget execution for 2023 were considered in Minsk
A joint meeting of the boards of the State Control Committee of Belarus and the Accounts Chamber of Russia was held in Minsk to consider the results of the external audit of the Union State budget execution for 2023.

The event was chaired by the head of the SCC Vasily Gerasimov and Deputy Chairman of the Accounts Chamber Galina Izotova.

It was noted at the meeting that the external audit confirms the data of the report of the Council of Ministers of the Union State on the execution of the Union State budget for 2023 in terms of revenues and expenditures.

The results of the audit have shown that financial discipline in the execution of the Union State budget is improving. Such dynamics has been seen over the last few years.

Compared to 2022, the number of implemented programmes of the Union State has increased from 4 to 6, the expenditures for their implementation have increased more than 3 times. The number of Union State events has also grown.

Vasily Gerasimov noted that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State. Over the years of joint work, 28 Union programmes have been implemented on a wide range of issues: agriculture, industry, energy, social sphere and others.

-- Affirmative cooperation of the supreme audit institutions of Belarus and Russia contributes to the strengthening of the common security of the two countries. Our control measures have been completed during the preparation of the budget of the Union State for the next fiscal year, -- he stressed.

This practice has proved to be positive, he said, and enables to provide timely comments and suggestions to be used in the work on the next year's budget.

However, there are still issues that have not been resolved for a long time.

-- This concerns the property of the Union State and the further development of the mass media. I believe that these issues deserve the utmost attention and control over their solution," the SCC head added.

Following the meeting of the boards, Vasily Gerasimov and Galina Izotova signed the final documents, including the conclusion of the SCC of Belarus and the Accounts Chamber of Russia on the report of the Council of Ministers of the Union State.
