Employees of the State Control Committee laid flowers at the Obelisk to the fallen soldiers and civilians
On the threshold of Victory Day, representatives of the State Control Committee honoured the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War by laying flowers at the monument located at the 9th kilometre of Moskovskoye highway in Uruchye.

The monument was installed at the site where 30,000 Soviet prisoners of war, civilians and partisans tortured by fascist invaders in 1941 and 1943 died.

After the laying of the monument, the Committee's employees visited the place of mass extermination of civilians and prisoners of war in the Uruchye tract.

According to archival data, from 1941 to 1944 the Nazi invaders took and shot civilians and servicemen from Minsk and its suburbs. As part of the investigation by the Prosecutor General's Office into the criminal case of genocide of the Belarusian people, grave pits were discovered here.

The remains of people, bullets and shell casings for firearms, as well as personal belongings of the murdered were found in them.
