The key feature of this holiday was that each of the children wrote a
letter to Father Frost asking for a desired gift, and the officials of the
State Control Committee fulfilled these wishes (the children ordered balls,
cars, cosmetic bags, art kits, scarves, gloves, etc.). In addition, the state
controllers bought a computer and a set of sports balls (football, basketball
and volleyball) for the children's home at their own expense.
First Deputy Chairman of the State Control Committee Dmitry Basko presented the
gifts to the children.
More than 30 orphans and children left without parental care are brought up in Divinsky orphanage. The children live in well-equipped rooms. They have a library, a vocational guidance room, a sensory room, an assembly hall and a room for additional education. All news
