Deputy Chairman of the State Control Committee of Belarus Aleksandr Kurlypo took part in the roundtable that took place on May 24, 2018 on the platform of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The roundtable was opened by the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Alexey Kudrin.
Heads and representatives of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of 19 States discussed draft documents for the XXIII INTOSAI Congress, which is scheduled for September 2019 in Moscow. Two topics will be discussed at the Congress: "Information technologies for the development of the public administration" and "The role of SAIs in achieving national priorities and goals".
The expert group chaired by the Russian Accounts Chamber is preparing the basic documents on the second topic of the XXIII INTOSAI Congress. The head of the main analytical department of the State Control Committee of Belarus Dmitry Sanko is a member of this expert group.
The Head of the Russian Accounts Chamber presented the draft of the Basic Document on the Role of Supreme Audit Institutions in Achieving National Priorities and Goals, which describes a strategic and integrated approach to state audit, development of efficiency audit methodology, as well as consulting activities in the SAI and the necessary analytical work.
As a result of the discussion, the round table participants decided to approve the draft basic documents on the topics of the Congress. In the future, they will be translated into the official languages of INTOSAI and distributed for discussion among the SAIs - members of INTOSAI. By May 2019, it is planned to generate final discussion papers for discussion at the XXIII INTOSAI Congress.
INTOSAI (International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions) is an international non-governmental organization with special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council which currently units SAIs of 191 countries of the world. The main objective of this organization is to promote cooperation between SAIs, as well as the exchange of information, research in the field of public finance control, the implementation of international standards of control (audit) activities. The State Control Committee of Belarus has been a member of INTOSAI since 2001.
