Chairman of the State Control Committee Vasily Gerasimov took part in Remembrance lesson that was held in the school of the Gorodyshcha village, Baranovichi district, on 4 May 2022.
Before the lesson started he laid flowers at the memorial to fallen defenders of the Motherland. And than the guys made a tour of the school museum for the head of the of the State Control Committee. They told not only about the events of the Great Patriotic War, that took place on the territory of this settlement, but also about the history of the urban village. At the moment, there are 2 war veterans and 13 former prisoners of concentration camps living here.
During the lesson Vasily Gerasimov shared with the guys the history of his family/ He also told how his ancestors managed to survive the terrible war years. A lively dialogue ensued. The pupils asked a lot of, including the questions asking the head of the State Control Committee about his favorite war movie and patriotic "Zarnitsa. At the end of the lesson Vasily Gerasimov said that this should be the attitude of the younger generation to the history of the Great Patriotic War.
" It is important to transmit historical memory from generation to generation. It was nice to see that the kids are not indifferent to it. This was demonstrated not only by their preparation for the lesson, but also by our communication in a more informal setting after the lesson," – said the Chairman of the State Control Committee.
