Representatives of the State Control Committee of Belarus took part in the XII Eurasian Anti-Corruption Forum

Representatives of the State Control Committee of Belarus took part in the XII Eurasian Anti-Corruption Forum "Countering Corruption: Dialectics of Scientific Knowledge" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation. The event was held in an online format. The large-scale forum gathered more than 250 participants, including experts from Belarus, China, Kazakhstan and other countries.

The plenary session included speeches by Talia Khabrieva, Director of the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Svetlana Orlova, Auditor of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Vitushkin, Chief of Staff of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, Deputy Ministers of Justice and Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, heads of scientific, educational and public institutions.

Viktor Selitsky, Deputy Director of the Financial Investigations Department of the State Control Committee of Belarus, also spoke on the margins of the forum. He informed the participants about the Belarusian experience in preventing, detecting and suppressing corruption offences using parallel financial investigation mechanisms and methods of detecting money laundering.

Viktor Selitsky noted that the result of most corruption offences is the unlawful acquisition of material benefits. The national legislation establishes rather severe penalties for corruption offences.
