The delegation of the Supreme Audit Office of the Slovak Republic (SAO) visited Belarus on June 19-22, 2019. The delegation was headed by Chairman Karol Mitrik.
Within the visit, on June 21, 2019 the heads of the SAIs of Belarus and Slovakia Leonid Anfimov and Karol Mitrik held the meeting and discussed issues of expanding bilateral cooperation, including in the information sphere, as well as conducting a parallel performance audit in health sphere.
At the end of the meeting, Leonid Anfimov presented Karol Mitrik with the medal "75 years of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Summing up the meeting, the Chairman of the State Control Committee Leonid Anfimov noted that the Belarusian state auditors are interested in the experience of Slovak colleagues, including methods for conducting the performance audit in health sphere.
Karol Mitrik, in turn, stressed that it is important to clearly assess the effectiveness of public funds invested in this industry, primarily from the standpoint of the impact on public health.
During a visit to Minsk on June 20, 2019 the Slovak delegation got acquainted with the activities of the Minsk Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology.
On June 21, 2019 the delegation of the Slovakian Supreme Audit Office took part in the Opening ceremony of the II European Games.
The cooperation of the SAIs of Belarus and Slovakia has been actively developing in recent years. In 2017, a Memorandum of cooperation was signed between the State Control Committee of Belarus and the Supreme Audit Office of Slovakia. In 2018, the control authorities of the two countries held a parallel performance audit on public procurement in the form of electronic trading. Its results were summed up in April 2019 during the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Bratislava. Cooperation in the information sphere is actively developing.
