After the recommendations of the State Control Committee, major importers of medicines reduced prices

In the course of control activities in April this year the State Control Committee established the following. Due to increase of exchange rates from the end of February to the middle of March 2022 domestic importing organizations re-evaluated the balances of medicines on which there were debts to suppliers. As a result, the cost of drugs increased by 30% on average. The legislation grants the subjects the right to conduct such revaluation of the cost of goods. However, as a rule, wholesale suppliers carry it out only in connection with an increase in the cost of products supplied. When the exchange rate decreases, revaluation of goods is not carried out, which is unfair to customers. Due to the decline in the exchange rate, the State Control Committee has sent recommendations to large organizations-importers of medicines to reassess the cost of medicines towards their reduction. So far they have taken measures to revalue drugs for which there were accounts payable on liabilities to suppliers. As a result, the revaluation made it possible to significantly reduce the estimated selling price of certain drugs.
