Vasily Gerasimov has been appointed Chairman of the State Control Committee of Belarus

Vasily Gerasimov has been appointed Chairman of the State Control Committee of Belarus. The corresponding personnel decision was made by Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 26 January 2021.
Since September 2020 Vasily Gerasimov has been acting chairman of the committee. Before that he was First Deputy Chairman of the State Control Committee.
During the appointment the President commended the State Control Committee for its efficiency in recent years and gave instructions to act in the same vein in the future.
The Head of State noted that the State Control Committee is faced with its classic specific tasks in terms of control over the spending of budget funds and also in the area of managing state property.
