Representatives of the State Control Committee took part in the meeting of the EUROSAI Working Group on Environmental Auditing

Representatives of the State Control Committee of Belarus took part in the XIХ annual meeting of the EUROSAI Working Group on Environmental Auditing, that was held on October 19-20, 2021 via video conferencing. The event was focused on the crucial issue of "green transition".
The participants considered relevant issues of audit activities in the environmental field, discussed the measures to prevent negative environmental changes in Europe, as well as the contribution of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) to activities aimed at promoting the transition to renewable energy sources ("green" energy) and towards a "green" economy.
The main attention of the meeting participants was paid to the exchange of experience and information, best practices in conducting national environmental audits and the development of recommendations for increasing the effectiveness of state policy, programs and strategic documents implemented in this area. SAIs from a number of European countries presented their experience and audit results.
The meeting also discussed the results of the working group's activities over the past period and set priorities for the next period.

The Working Group on Environmental Auditing is one of 5 working structures (3 working groups, task force, network) groups operating within EUROSAI. The working group includes the SAIs of 43 countries, as well as the European Court of auditors. The State Control Committee of Belarus has been a member of the group since 2008.
