The State Control Committee monitors the readiness of agricultural organizations for forage harvesting

The State Control Committee is controlling the progress in all regions of the Republic over the issues of agricultural organizations' readiness for grass fodder harvesting. The main attention during the control measures is paid to farms which have been lacking their own fodder since the beginning of this year. In total on 23.05.2022 fodder is being purchased by more than 80 agricultural organizations of the Republic. At the same time, the purchase price significantly exceeds the cost of procurement of own fodder (in some cases - 2-3 times). Monitoring conducted by the State Control Committee in May this year revealed problems with readiness of machinery in some farms. Some farms practically did not start to repair it, which may negatively influence the process of fodder procurement. Thus, OJSC "Brashevichi" of Drohichevo district had 2 available forage harvesters unprepared for work as of 13.05.2022 (being repaired); OJSC "Druyskiy" of Braslav region had both forage harvesters defective as of 12.05.2022. 2022 there were defects in both forage harvesters, 3 (out of 6) tractor mowers, 1 (out of 2) tractor rake; at JSC "Kuritichi" of Petrikov district on 14.05.2022 there were 3 (out of 4 available) forage harvesters, 1 (out of 2) mower, 2 (out of 3) balers in a defective state. Monitoring has shown that some farms cover up miscalculations in the repair of equipment by pretending that it is ready. For example, according to the operative reports of the district executive committee as of 11.05.2022, 1 (of 2 available) forage harvester and all 4 tractor mowers were found to be in good working order in the OJSC "Krupsky District Agroservis" in Krupsky district. At the same time, it was found that both forage harvesters were under repair, as well as 2 mowers were faulty. It was found that a number of farms lacked preservatives, polyethylene film and other consumables required for grass fodder harvesting. In some farms, preparation of hay-silage trenches for grass fodder was only started. In addition, the local farms still do not pay proper attention to creation of highly productive hayfields and pastures, violate the technological requirements for their care (re-sowing, replanting of grasses, fertilizing with mineral fertilizers, etc.). For example, during the spring period of the current year 4 out of 10 farms in Liozno district and 8 out of 10 in Braslav district did not fertilize perennial grasses, while 3 farms in Liozno district and 6 in Braslav district did not fertilize grassland. The State Control Committee informed the government in order to take prompt response measures related to the preparation of equipment for fodder harvesting, as well as to eliminate the identified shortcomings. The results of the control activities were also sent to local authorities. Monitoring of the control over the fodder harvesting work will continue.
