Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed decree No. 339 on public inspectors on 10 September 2021.
A system of public inspectors will be established under the aegis of the State Control Committee. Belarus citizens, who are at least 25 years of age, have a higher, secondary specialized or vocational education and who can provide assistance to controlling bodies in conducting of analytical and control activities due to their moral and business qualities, can become public inspectors. Public inspectors will perform these functions on a voluntary basis in their own free time.
The Decree No. 339 is aimed at regulating public relations arising in connection with the participation of citizens in the implementation of the tasks and functions assigned to the State Control Committee.
In order to implement Decree, the State Control Committee, together with the Council of Ministers, is preparing normative legal acts aimed at regulating the activities of the new institution.
