18.11.2021 Belarusian delegation took part in the events of the 35th EAG Plenary Meeting

The plenary meeting of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism (EAG) was held on November 18, 2021 in the format of video conferencing. The day before, the meetings of the EAG working groups were held.
Representatives of the EAG member states, the Secretariat of the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF), the Egmont Group, as well as states and organizations with observer status took part in the events of the Plenary Session.
The Belarusian delegation included representatives of the Financial Monitoring Department and the Financial Investigations Department of the State Control Committee and other state bodies.
The plenary meeting participants approved the report on the EAG activities in the intersessional period, changes in the statutory and governing EAG documents, the Methodology for assessing the risks of money laundering and terrorist financing in the Eurasian region.
The EAG work plan for 2022, the schedules for the 2nd round of mutual evaluations and plenary meetings in the EAG member states, the rules for coordinating technical assistance to the member states, the 3rd progress report within the framework of enhanced monitoring of the Kyrgyz Republic were approved.
The participants of the Plenary session reviewed the best practices, typologies and experience in automation of analytical activities on AML / CFT issues, summed up the results of the 7th International Forum on Supervision and a seminar on the exchange of experience regarding the implementation of FATF standards in relation to virtual assets.
They also discussed the results of the International Olympiad in Financial Security, which was held at the initiative of the Russian Federation from May to November 2021.
The next EAG Plenary meeting is planned to be held in May 2022 in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
